Meet Lisa |
I’m Lisa, Co-Founder of the Hannah Legacy. I was born into a family of 6 children, all girls who grew up to be more than sisters-we are also friends. I now have children of my own who are loved more than life itself. Thanks to my parents, my family is my foundation.
Like many, we have endured tragedies, hardships and life's devastating blows. As a small child, I was burned in a fire, and confined to a hospital for months to recover. |
In my adult years, I've experienced a heartbreak like no other: Final hours with my mom by her bedside in a hospice center and the loss of the first man I've ever loved-my dad. I have first hand knowledge on the devastating effects that cancer leaves on families.
No matter how much time passes, I will never forget the out pour of love and compassion received in our time of need. This is my inspiration for this organization. We will give the world the gift that was given to us. There is nothing more powerful than love, compassion and the ability to lift a family or individual in need. This is what the Hannah Legacy was created to do in the communities we serve.
Meet Nancy |
My name is Nancy, Co-Founder of The Hannah Legacy. My parents migrated here from Guatemala, Barrio, San Jose. I’m the fifth child of eight children. I have three children of my own and the most adorable and equally mischievous granddaughter. I attended Baruch College where I ascertained my certification in Facilities Management. I’m also OSHA certified and I have several licenses through FDNY. I’m scheduled to obtain my Engineering license in 2018. I've been in the Healthcare industry; in management for the past 17 years, supervising up to sixty-eight staff members. I have 20 years of experience in providing service in several community-based organizations.

I developed a strong sense of devotion for the non-profit sector as a beneficiary of several programs myself. As a mother at a very young age, community based programs are what provided me with the necessary tools I required to be able to provide for my family. In 1991, life circumstances lead me to be homeless for almost a year with my two children at the time, again requiring me to seek services for the betterment of my family. In 2012, I lost my mother, and this experience gave me a deeper appreciation on how community organizations seek to improve the quality of life for all.
My love for helping others has always dominated my spirit. There’s no greater feeling than the satisfaction of knowing you’ve made a difference. Together we can build a stronger foundation for our communities.
